Complete 9-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, transfer to hotel in Moshi. Equipment check and briefing with your guide.
Day 2: Londorossi Gate (2,100m) to Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,750m)
Begin your trek through lush rainforest on the western side of Kilimanjaro. The trail is less crowded and offers excellent wildlife viewing opportunities.

Duration: 3-4 hours
Day 3: Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira Camp 1 (3,500m)
Exit the rainforest and enter the heath zone. Views of Kibo Peak emerge as you climb onto the Shira Plateau.

Duration: 5-6 hours
Day 4: Shira Camp 1 to Moir Camp (4,200m)
Continue across the Shira Plateau, the largest high-altitude plateau in the world. The landscape changes to alpine desert as you gain altitude.

Day 5: Moir Camp to Pofu Camp (4,050m)
Traverse the northern slopes of Kilimanjaro. This is the most remote section of the route — you may not see another trekking group all day.

Day 6: Pofu Camp to Third Cave Camp (3,900m)
Continue along the northern circuit, enjoying panoramic views of the Kenyan plains to the north and the Mawenzi Peak to the east.

Day 7: Third Cave Camp to Kibo Hut (4,700m)
The final approach to Kibo Hut. The landscape becomes increasingly barren as you enter the alpine desert zone. Rest and prepare for the summit attempt.

Day 8: Summit Uhuru Peak (5,895m) to Millennium Camp (3,790m)
Depart at midnight for the summit attempt. Climb scree for 4-5 hours to Stella Point (5,739m), then another hour to Uhuru Peak (5,895m). Descend to Millennium Camp.
Distance: 22km
Duration: 14-16 hours
Day 9: Millennium Camp to Mweka Gate (1,630m)
Descend through rainforest to Mweka Gate. Receive your certificate and transfer back to hotel in Moshi for celebration dinner.
Distance: 12km
Duration: 5-6 hours
